Tailynn had her first experience putting out milk and cookies for Santa. She chose the cookies and set everything up on her little table for Santa. Mom snuck in a few pictures after Santa’s visit.

Ahhh, the magic of Christmas! Tailynn has been singing Jingle Bell Rock and trying to get out some Santa Claus is Coming to Town. We’ve watched Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas, The Polar Express, Elf, and Charlie Brown Christmas a hundred times. We’ve put up the tree, and taken portraits. And now it’s Christmas Eve. While I tried to clean today (so that our house wouldn’t look like a dump in our Christmas morning video), Tailynn played with her Hello Kitty Tiara.
I also was working on the computer for a bit. While I was doing this, Tailynn and Jackie found the bag of plastic Easter Eggs sitting in the hallway (they had been packed with my Christmas stuff and were awaiting repacking to a proper home). We ended up looking like this:
and this:
I’m glad I have a vacuum. It made cleaning this up easier. Word to the wise: use your hose attachment, don’t try to suck it up under the turning blades (I didn’t do this, I’m just passing along some logical wisdom).
We *finally* ate lunch, and had some spaghetti. Well, I had spaghetti, the girls ate plain noodles. Hennessey has the best toothless grin!
I agree, it isn’t the most flattering picture of Tailynn, but if you demand you get your picture taken every time your sister does, then this is what may happen!
I’m a sucker for fudge.
I love the stuff, so we made some.
Tailynn helped.

I don’t like walnuts, so we used pecans.
I prepped and cooked.

Fudge cups are AWESOME!

Accidents like the one above are devoured. It was delicious.

Finding a spot for the tree in our house is a constant battle.
Year 1 – We had little furniture, and so it was easy to place in the front window.
Year 2 – New furniture, which we dismantled (a sectional couch) and stored in the back room. HUGE pain!
Year 3 – We weren’t home for Christmas, no tree was put up.
Year 4 – We were clearing out the office to become Tailynn’s new bedroom. Used that room for the tree! Worked great, we could shut the door….shortly after Christmas, Tailynn moved in. No longer an option.
Year 5 – That brings us to this year. We could dismantle the couch again, but it was so difficult, and we don’t have a “back room” so now it would have to go in the garage… So instead, I took down our book shelf and we have it there. You only have to go a *little* out of your way to get to the kitchen….;) Here are a few tree trimming and fun with santa hat photos!
